On February 12, 2016, we officially opened a new climbing sector. Its dominant feature is a huge statue – the Monster with spectacular eyes that shine in different colors. Behind the Monster's head there is a viewpoint that can be climbed. Another interesting element of the new wall is the hand that "hangs" from the Monster's body.
The rather complicated Monster project cost our colleagues from Žilina a lot of effort, requiring a lot of patience and skill not only from the builders but also from the designers themselves.
The statics of the more complicated parts of the Monster were very important in the preparation and implementation of the project. The designers from Anatomic had to reinforce and strengthen the hanging arm and the head of the figure more thoroughly. There is a lookout near the head that can be climbed, but over time you can also reach it in an easier way, from behind the wall.
The left arm is sufficiently reinforced with reinforcement and we performed a load test on it. According to European standards, walls are tested for a load of 800kg, but we loaded it with 1 ton. It passed those tests with flying colors.
This added 450m2 to our, previously known as the largest climbing wall in Slovakia.
